One year ago today we were lucky enough to be asked to photography Katie and Erick’s vow renewal at the incredible Cadet Chapel at West Point, the United States Military Academy. Erick graduated from West Point, but did not get to have his big wedding there, so instead, these two had a small ceremony before he departed for Afghanistan and then had a rocking party and an AMAZING renewal after he returned. It was the big wedding they had dreamed of. Today, they have a beautiful baby girl together, and our thoughts are with Erick as he is currently abroad again preserving our freedom and way of life. Erick and Katie, thank you so much for allowing us to be a part of your day, and we wish you many more years of happiness together!

Here’s a little shot from their wedding that we didn’t feature on the blog last time. I always loved the military tradition of cutting the cake with a sword. Lisa and I did it at our wedding, and it really makes those little cake knives seem ineffective by comparison

The images from Katie and Erick’s vow renewal are finished and ready for the world to see! They had an incredible vow renewal, making it the wedding they never got to have due to Erick’s deployment to Afghanistan. We just want to take this time to thank him for his service and wish them all the best as they really start off their married life together. The ceremony was held at the West Point Cadet Chapel, which was absolutely breathtaking. Our planned photoshoot with them around campus had to get cut very, very short due to the severe cold, but these two were real troopers in braving it for even a couple of minutes. The reception was at the West Point Club with a breathtaking view of the river. The wedding was a blast, and it was so easy to see their love for each other and for their friends and family. As promised from part one of this teaser yesterday, here is part two, my favorite ceremony and reception photos from Erick and Katie’s amazing West Point vow renewal this past weekend. Thank you guys for being such troopers about the cold, and thank you again for such a great time and hosting such a great party. Without further ado, here they are!

This past Saturday, Katie and Erick had a gorgeous wedding at the United States Military Academy at West Point, NY, Erick’s Alma Mater. This was technically a vow renewal, as Katie and Erick had gotten married a year ago, just before Erick’s deployment to Afghanistan, so they finally got to have their big wedding upon his return. They had their ceremony at the Cadet Chapel, followed by their reception at the West Point Club. It was a very chilly day here in upstate NY, but they were amazing to work with nonetheless and were so very much in love, just as if this had been their first wedding rather than a vow renewal.
