Annnndddd we are back with the much anticipated second blog post of Abby and Jack’s awesome wedding. Abby and Jack had an energetic crowd and it showed during the cheers as they entered their reception. After some sweet dances and toasts it was time to steal Abby and Jack for a short sunset session. We took them outside where there was some sweet sunset prettiness for us to photograph. We love to take our couples out at sunset for about 10 minutes to get some relaxed pictures in the good light. Trust us, these are 10 minutes you won’t regret! Not only did they go out for sunset but Abby and Jack plopped right down in the grass. We love couples who are willing to do anything we ask and trust that we will get great pictures. I think you will agree these are definitely some gorgeous pictures.

After they returned to the tent the party was rockin’ late into the night and we were there to capture all the highlights. Our girl Michelle was rockin’ the photobooth and the guests definitely took advantage of it. The dance floor stayed packed and what can we say other than the pictures show what an awesome crowd we got to work with for their wedding.

Abby and Jack – You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding and being such troopers in the mud and the muck. You rock!

These two are major wine lovers, so the entire reception was wine themed!

After Abby and Jack cooled off a little bit during their After Dark session, they went right back to the party!

We think every couple who is considering marriage should renovate a house together. It is a test of your commitment, patience and ability to work together. Did we mention patience? Abby and Jack are a testimony that this is a true statement as they have been renovating their home together for four years. Their home, however, is not just any home, but a historic home in Johnsonville with a breathtaking view and amazing history. It was only right that the home that cemented their love was the venue for their wedding day. Their yard with its gorgeous hilltop views housed the ceremony that proclaimed them man and wife, while a backyard tent was the site of the biggest party that Johnsonville, NY has probably ever seen.

Although it was a rainy week it stopped that Saturday and the sun shone down to deliver a perfect day that couldn’t have been any more beautiful. We started with Abby and her girls getting ready upstairs while Jack and the boys grabbed drinks and got ready downstairs. It was off to a short and sweet little ceremony (with some amazing light I might add) and then picture time! With a fun bridal party in tow and a beautiful view we were off! We got some fun bridal party pictures and then it was time for Abby and Jack’s session. They really value photography so they made sure to give us ample time to create our magic. Trust me when I say that if you give us enough time, we will be able to get some incredible pictures. These couple portraits are some of our favorites and the best part is that they were game for a sunset and afterdark session where we got some more incredible pictures (check back for part 2 to see those!). You will absolutely fall in love with Abby and Jack after seeing their beautiful wedding day – you have been warned! Meanwhile, upstairs, Abby was helping her girls get ready:

Story time. Abby really loves antiques. Completely adores them. For years, whenever she visited her local antique shop, she would go directly for a gorgeous antique bottle and look at it. She coveted this bottle, but thought she could never afford it. Well, guess what Jack got her as her wedding gift? Abby knew what it was just by feeling it through the wrapping paper and the tears of joy came almost immediately. It was a great thing to witness:

Lisa grabbed a few amazing bridal portraits inside while they were waiting for the ceremony. Sometimes, all you need is a little window light and a beautiful bride:

Check out some of our favorite shots from their reception, but first, we’re going to start out with some more from their Romatics session out in Forest Park in Springfield, MA before we headed back to the party at the Barney Carriage House.  It was such a fun reception, both families and all their friends had such an amazing time. DJ Tony Valley kept the dance floor packed for the entire evening, and the open air tent just added to the party feel. Since we are originally from Florida, we love that during the summer you can have open air weddings in New England without the sweltering heat and humidity. Well, here’s the update, with a little extra bling!

Here’s a long exposure shot of the Barney Carriage House just after sunset. Love the color here! You can see their tent where the reception is taking place just to the right.

One of the coolest things at their reception was the candy bar. The freshly chocolate dipped pretzel sticks and the toffee covered marshmallows were to die for!

Jarred and Hilary let us take them out of their reception for 10 minutes to get some awesome portraits. We never like to take a couple away from their party for too long, but we love getting the opportunity for a few minutes with them around sunset or after dark to create some really moody, romantic portraits. Keep that in mind when planning your wedding, you can get some great images from this!

We’re so excited to be posting this preview from what was definitely one of the most beautiful, scenic wedding ceremonies we have ever shot. After driving back from our Cape Cod wedding on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we stopped off in Williamstown in Western Massachusetts for Erika and David’s wedding. I can’t believe we had such different, yet incredibly beautiful weddings on one weekend!

Erika and David met their freshman year at Williams College in Williamstown and have been inseparable ever since. They even moved together to Boston to follow their separate graduate studies, with Erika just graduating as a Veterinarian the week before the wedding, and David continuing his studies for his Ph.D. in Physics and other rocket science stuff that is way over our heads (no pun intended, ok, maybe one was intended). They decided for their wedding to come back to the place where it all began, and their friends and family joined them for a beautiful wedding atop Sheep Hill in Williamstown, overlooking the scenic Berkshires. We love shooting in Western MA, and these pictures will show you exactly why. Here are some of our favorites from pre-wedding and the ceremony. Stay tuned for the reception preview, coming up soon!

Erika and David opted to do a “First Look” before the ceremony. The First Look allows them to see each other for the first time alone, in a private moment. Couples don’t often realize this, but weddings do not provide any private time between the couple until it’s over, so we like to give them that opportunity to share a few moments together before the craziness really starts up.

I just LOVE the expression on Erika’s face when they met during their first look. Priceless!

And of course, the first look allows us to get some awesome shots of the couple before the ceremony, which lets them get to their reception that much faster! Also, did I mention that we LOVE silhouettes?

We took these at the foot of Sheep Hill before moving to the top for the ceremony. It was a beautiful spring day  - loving the scenery.

Erika’s Aunt hand picked all the flowers for this wedding. Incredible! There was so much amazing color.

You’re going to be seeing a bit of a violin theme at this wedding. The wedding took place just shy of the top of the hill, and the bridal party followed the violinist down from the top of the hill to the ceremony site. It was an amazing entrance, and I wish all of you had been there to see it. Breathtaking!

You probably saw this image in the sneak peek, but we wanted you to get another look at the AMAZING view from the ceremony site atop Sheep Hill.

Erika’s sister then picked up a second violin and played a beautiful piece for the couple. She and Erika used to play weddings together, and Erika was so happy that she got her sister to play for hers.

Such a beautiful first kiss. Just look at the look on the Best Man’s face!

After the ceremony, the guests all followed the couple, led by the violinist, down the hill to the reception site.

Erika and David had an amazing reception at Mezze, an amazing new Italian restaurant in Williamstown. The second half of the preview will show off some of those photos, so check back soon!

Erika and David had an absolutely magical wedding this past Sunday in Williamstown, MA and we got to be there to capture all of it. This was such a unique wedding with so many great, personal touches and one of our most laid back, relaxed couples ever. It really was the perfect day for a couple that is really perfect for each other. We find ourselves smiling as we go through editing their photos, so I wanted to start you all off with a little teaser. Their wedding ceremony took place on top of Sheep Hill in Williamstown on the most gorgeous day of the spring. I just wanted to share this image with you to show you just how amazing the ceremony site was. Check back soon for more from their wedding!
