Welcome back to the second half Kim and Jesse’s awesome engagement session in Northampton, MA! We continue here with some more awesome treats for your eyeballs. After hanging out at the candy store you saw in the last post, we wandered around the rest of Downtown Northampton and ended up in what was quite possibly the coolest bar we’ve been in in a LONG time. It’s actually an old train tunnel that has been converted into a bar. An empty, really cool bar is always awesome for a few cool shots. Kim and Jesse were game for anything and they got some amazing shots because of it!

The best thing about Kim and Jesse’s session was not only getting to see new locations and hang out with them but we also got to learn more about them. Kim used to go to Sweetie’s with her dad and we loved hearing about the time they spent there together. We also got to see the place where they got engaged. Additionally, we also learned some new lingo –  did you know that Northampton is referred to as “NoHo” by the locals? We didn’t before, but we certainly do now! Not to mention that Lisa got to try out incorporating “wicked” into her everyday lingo. Overall, it was a pretty amazing session and we hope you enjoy it!

Of course, we had to move across the street and shoot in front of the Calvin. So many cool shows at this place, and it’s so big a part of downtown NoHo.

These doors were just begging to be photographed, and of course, we happened to have a hot couple we could put in front of them. Couldn’t resist!

Then it was off to the bar to finish off the session. This place was empty because it was still early, but it was wicked cool (as they say in MA) – an old train tunnel turned into a bar? Yes please.

Good morning everyone! We have another HOT blog post  for you all to check out this morning, this time featuring Kim and Jesse. The pictures are definitely hot, but the day was even hotter. The rain and thunderstorms were on their way and threatening, but Kim called us to see if we could head out there a little early to get the session done before the storm hit. We got done just in time! We met at Forest Park in Springfield, MA. These two will be having their wedding there the Barney Carriage House next June.We wanted to save the parts of the park near the carriage house for their wedding photos, so we got in the car and drove around the absolutely HUGE park and found a few cool places to start the session.  Kim and Jesse have been together since high school and they are incredibly in sync with each other, and this  definitely helps when you are shooting an engagement session! They were a little nervous but they pulled out their inner models and had a great time during the shoot.

We discovered a cute little rose garden in Forest Park, so of course we had to take some pictures there? We got a little romantic on a bench (well, they did, not us so much). Their outfits were adorable and worked well with the park. Can you believe that he was the one who picked out their outfits? You can’t help but love a guy who is a good dresser! Kim and Jesse definitely epitomized the idea of coordinating but not matching outfits. Big props to Jesse, who is a firefighter and worked a 24 hour shift the night before the session and props to Kim for keeping him laughing.

Kim and Jesse -Thank you for putting up with all of our ideas and being so fun to shoot. We have loved getting to know you and we are so looking forward to your wedding day. We know you two will have a gorgeous wedding (perhaps there will be a detour to the firehouse? A photographer can always dream, right?) and we can’t wait to be a part of it. After we finished up in the park, we drove up to Northampton, or NoHo as the locals call it. It’s absolutely one of our favorite cities with its amazing restaurants as well as music and arts scenes, and it was a blast to shoot there. We started off at a cool little candy shop that Kim used to visit when she was younger. With a name like Sweetie’s, we just had to shoot there for an e-shoot.

We decided a prop was in order:

A “sweet” way to show off the bling. No pun intended. OK, maybe it was…..

Another weekend and another wedding slideshow and gallery posted for your enjoyment! We can’t wait for you to enjoy some photos of Angela and Ian’s awesome wedding in Northampton, MA. We love Northampton, it’s a really fun city with a really vibrant downtown, not to mention that it also has our closest Trader Joe’s! Angela and Ian had a beautiful family oriented wedding at the First Churches in Northampton with some amazing light. After the ceremony, we headed outside for some fun with the bridesmaids and groomsmen and then just the bride and groom alone. We then headed to the Hotel Northampton for the party. Their friends and family definitely know how to dance and have a good time. Angie and Ian, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your day. We know this is just the beginning of your wonderful life together and we wish you all the best!

For those of you who are just joining us, you may want to check the last post to see the first half of Angie and Ian’s Northampton, MA wedding. We join them now following their beautiful wedding and our photo session with them and their bridal party in downtown Northampton. Now we’ll get to the part of the wedding that al the guests always look forward to the most, the reception!

Angie and Ian planned an amazing reception at the Hotel Northampton, which is a beautiful historic hotel in the heart of downtown. Everyone had an amazing time and DJ Dan Cavanaugh made sure the dance floor was packed for the entire night. I’m not sure we have ever seen a dance floor this packed for this long – it was incredible! We are really excited to be able to show you just how much fun this reception was. Check it out!

Angie and Ian got one of our Engagement Guestbooks. We love it when our clients show off their engagement photos like this! We design a beautiful book containing their engagement photos  with plenty of white space for their friends and family to leave them words of love and happiness – and unlike those old, traditional lined guestbooks, these make a great coffee table keepsake.

These two are so perfect for each other. We knew it from the moment we met them. They knew it about each other from their Freshman year of college at WPI in Worcester, MA, where they met. Everyone else knew about it too. It all came together on a gorgeous fall afternoon in Northampton, MA. They got married at the amazing First Churches in Northampton, with their reception at the Hotel Northampton just down the road. It provided the perfect backdrop for this incredible couple.

It’s very rare that we have ever seen a church as beautiful as this one, and it was a real pleasure to shoot in. It was also an interesting backdrop to observe the groom sprinting back in just before the ceremony with the wedding license he almost forgot! Ian is a pretty speedy guy so no harm done. We then got to witness a beautiful ceremony and then got to wander around downtown Northampton getting some awesome photos for these two. Angie and Ian had a beautiful wedding this past weekend in Northampton, MA with their ceremony at the beautiful First Churches and the reception at the Hotel Northampton. It was a beautiful ceremony and a really fun reception – we can’t wait to share all the details with you. For now, however, we’re going to give you a little teaser shot from their After Dark Session. Unfortunately, the “Cal” part of the sign on the Calvin Theater was burned out, but it still made for a great shot!

Samantha and Josh got married in beautiful Look Park in Northampton, MA, and it couldn’t have been a more amazing day. The Pines Theater nestled in the trees at the park provided a truly spectacular backdrop for their intimate ceremony. The guests then moved off to the Garden House just up the hill while we got to spend a little time with the two newlyweds for some intimate, relaxed portraits before they walked over to join the party. From there, the evening was incredibly relaxed and a lot of fun. Since Josh is such a huge soccer fan and a player himself, the wedding was infused with a little World Cup spirit and excitement. Thank you guys for allowing us to be a part of your day and we wish you many happy years together!

After Sam and Josh had their beautiful wedding ceremony at the Pines Theater in Look Park in Northampton, MA, we took them for a brief portrait session and then it was off to their reception at the Garden House next door. We only spent about 10 minutes for portraits afterwards since they opted for the first look before the ceremony. All their family formals were done, so they got to hang out with all their guests at the cocktail hour. It was a very laid back reception, which was very fitting for the couple. They had a first dance (to “You Are The Best Thing by Ray LaMontagne, which fit the two of them PERFECTLY) and toasts, and the rest of the night was completely unscheduled. The bride and groom’s laid back attitude allowed the night to flow naturally and everyone had a great time.  Here are a few of our favorites:

This next one is one of our favorite shots of the wedding. Sam really knows how to work that smile for the camera:

There were little Irish touches that showed up throughout their wedding day.

The entrance of the bridal party was certainly animated……

However, the real party started when Sam and Josh entered. Some of you may remember that Josh is a HUGE soccer fan and a player himself, so since this wedding was right in the midst of the World Cup, there was a hint of those festivities around the room, including the happy couple entering to shoults of Ole, Ole, Ole! Josh made such a rockstar entrance here, he even sacrificed a small part of his pants leg to this floor, but it was well worth it for this entrance:

We are so excited tonight to be showing you the first preview of Sam and Josh’s Northampton, MA wedding this past weekend. We hope you’re excited to see more after the sneak peek you saw a few days ago. They got married in Look Park just outside of downtown Northampton, and it was a gorgeous setting. Tonight’s preview will be some of our favorite shots from their pre-wedding preparation as well as the couple’s “first look” and the ceremony. The ceremony was at the Pines Theater in Look Park, which is this amazing outdoor space under the towering pine trees of the park. It’s truly magnificent. Here are some of our favorites:

Yet again, another one of Lisa’s great shoe shots. She’s always so creative with these. It’s hard to make Badgley Mischka shoes look better than they already do, but she always finds a way!

Sam and Josh were another one of our couples to opt for a “First Look” – We always love it when couples trust us on this because not only does it allow them to have a private, personal moment before the ceremony, but it allows us to get all the formal photos taken beforehand so that the couple can get right to their party! Here’s a little series that shows you their first look. It was really beautiful to witness.

Sam’s maiden name was Pleasant, and she had this button on her bouquet in tribute to her grandfather, who had it as his campaign button. We’ve seen a lot of beautiful tributes to late family members at our weddings, and this one was especially touching.

If you’re ever at Look Park, you need to go check out the Pines Theater. It was a gorgeous ceremony site.

Sam and Josh had a really touching part of the ceremony where they welcomed Josh’s daughter (who is INCREDIBLY cute) into their new family.

We are busy looking through the images from Sam and Josh’s amazing wedding from Friday night and wanted to give you all a little sneak peek at one of our favorite shots. Sam and Josh got married in Look Park in Northampton, MA, with their ceremony outside in the beautiful Pines Theater and the reception in the Garden House. It was a really fun wedding with a little touch of the World Cup mixed in, and it was just the right atmosphere to celebrate the union of these two really fun people! We will be showing you a lot more in a further preview later on this week, so check back regularly, but for now, we wanted to show you this image we captured during the ceremony.
