Now that they are back from their amazing honeymoon, we’re so excited to be able to show off some of Katie and Seth’s amazing wedding photos from their Saratoga Springs wedding. Katie and Seth were one of those couples who we never got to meet with before they booked us. They live down in North Carolina and booked us over the phone and e-mail, and we never know what to expect from couples when we don’t get to meet them first. They came up on a very cold day in the spring for their engagement session, and we loved them the instant we met them. They were so much fun to hang around and so obviously in love with each other. We knew this would be an amazing wedding.
Katie and Seth met during track season in Saratoga Springs, which for anyone who has never experienced it, is a crazy time of year when seemingly the rest of the world converges upon Saratoga to enjoy some horse racing, amazing nightlife, and a great time. It was in Saratoga the evening after a race that these two met and started their amazing romance that ended up leading them back to Saratoga for their wedding. The theme of Saratoga and the track was at the center of this wedding, and we’ll show you a lot more of that on the second half of this wedding that we’ll be blogging on Saturday.
These two had a beautiful ceremony at Saratoga Springs United Methodist Church, which was almost delayed by some hand tied bowties, but despite the close call, it turned out to be a really amazing interfaith ceremony. Following that, it was off to the Universal Preservation Hall, which was once itself a methodist church and meeting hall. It’s an incredible space that we will show you in the next post. In between the ceremony and reception, we got a chance to take a few photos in Congress Park in downtown Saratoga, and then had the chance to get some incredible images at the place that inspired the relationship and the entire wedding – the Saratoga race track. For today, we’re going to show you our favorite images from the pre-wedding, the ceremony, and a few images from congress park. Be sure to check back Saturday after 5 pm for the rest!
Some of the vendors featured in this post:
Florist: Lisa of Sunflowers
Trolley: Albany Aquaducks
Yet another amazing shoe shot by Lisa. I don’t know what I would do without her!
Brides, if you want incredible getting ready photos like this, be sure to let Lisa stay in the room while you get dressed. She always captures amazing images, and we never take anything embarassing! She always does such an amazing, artistic job with these.
Katie made such a gorgeous bride:
Meanwhile, back at the hotel, these were the bowties that caused so many issues. Guys, hand tied bowties ROCK, and there’s nothing else quite like them. Clip-ons just don’t do it. However, be sure you practice how to tie them before your wedding day!![]()
Seth feeling a little tense before the ceremony:
We just love this expression:
For any of you wondering about Seth’s outfit, and the incredibly red pants, it was inspired by a painting of old Saratoga. It was so unique and fit the wedding perfectly.
After that, it was off to congress park to go have a little fun on the carousel.
Be sure to check back soon! We have another wedding coming your way tomorrow on the blog, and then the second half of Katie and Seth’s wedding, including the track and reception photos, will be up on Saturday at 5 pm. Leave the happy couple a little blog love below!
