We love to travel for weddings, and since Boston is one of our favorite cities, it wasn’t too difficult for Scott to convince us to make our way out there for their beautiful fall wedding. These two live in Brooklyn, where we went for their engagement photos, but they made the trip back to their former home of Boston for their wedding at Glen Magna Farms.

When you first meet Colleen and Scott, they seem like a very nice, unassuming, cute couple. That’s until you hear their ridiculous list of accomplishments. In addition to being talented runners they have built schools in Africa, run a lot of marathons ( for fun-we still don’t get it),  Colleen has worked with Teach for America, and Scott is a successful lawyer. These two really embrace everything in life and most of all, are so in tune with each other as they go through their many adventures. Even though we only met via phone we knew right away they were a Scott K kinda couple.

Their wedding day was overcast, but it didn’t lighten the mood one bit. Glen Magna was awesome with waiting on the weather, they didn’t make the call until an hour before the ceremony, and the rain held off just long enough for them to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. We did get a little rain during their After Dark session, but that just added to the mood Without further ado,here are some of our favorites from the day!

We met Laurie and Joe just three months before their wedding in the lobby of a hotel we were staying in while visiting Manhattan to shoot Kelly and Brian’s engagement session (if you scroll down to the post before this, you can see their wedding!). A month and a half later we were in Manhattan and Astoria, Queens to shoot Laurie and Joe’s awesome engagement session. On the day of the wedding, they opted for a first look which allowed us to give them some private time to see each other for the first time and get all of their pictures done before the wedding, as the sunset ceremony wouldn’t have allowed us time after the wedding.

The ceremony and reception were held at The View on the Hudson, which is located in the cute little town of Piermont, NY, Just across the Tappan Zee Bridge from New York City. After a sweet indoor ceremony in the ballroom, they headed of to their cocktail hour filled with some AMAZING food. Our favorite part of the cocktail hour is seeing all of the interesting food displays and appetizers. Laurie and Joe were able to enjoy their cocktail hour and visit with all of their guest who had come from all over the country to their wedding. After, cocktail hour they entered into their reception and did probably to most beautiful and sophisticated first dance we have seen in a long time. Of course, we had to head outside and do an after dark session lit by the Tappan Zee to close it all out.

Laurie and Joe-Thank you for letting us be a part of your day. We loved getting to explore Piermont and meet your families. It was such a joy to work with you and we hope you enjoy your pictures!

There were some elderly residents nearby that said we HAD to take a photo in the gazebo, so we obliged, but did it with our own style.

We’re back after a brief weekend break where we’ve been out shooting for four days straight! We’re finally back at the computer and ready to show you more swoonworthy pictures from Kelly and Brian’s beautiful Crooked Lake wedding. They had a gorgeous indoor ceremony which you saw below in part 1, but the magic really started when we stepped outside to a gorgeous sunset on the lake. We ended up getting some more use out of the couch Lisa had asked Stephanie and Janice from the Old Daley Inn to drag outside. There’s nothing quite like comfy lakeside furniture. We got some of that great sunset light that we love to shoot and some relaxed portraits that really show off the love between these two. We love giving our couples some time away to enjoy each other and relax before the party starts. Kelly and Brian are such a fun and amazing couple, and they were just so comfortable and playful with each other during their session, it was almost as if Lisa and I weren’t there at all.

Once we headed back inside, the Doc Scanlon Trio was rockin’ the cocktail hour. Kelly and Brian managed a little bit of a first dance in the cocktail space and then we headed into the reception. Brian is a drummer, and these two are both really big into music, which ended up being a HUGE part of their wedding. From gorgeous strings at the ceremony, to the jazz stylings of Doc Scanlon at the cocktail hour, to Cryin’ Out Loud keeping the dance floor absolutely packed during the entire reception, this wedding was a music lovers paradise. Brian and his dad even rocked out with the band on drums for a few songs while Kelly joined in on stage as well. Pictures from that are below! It is pretty cool getting to see our clients in their element and Brian looked like a rockstar on stage.

Kelly and her dad started off with a traditional, sweet father daughter dance, but then surprised everyone with breaking it down! It was awesome, and after they wowed the crowd with some killer dance moves, they came back together to finish the dance with her dad holding her once again.

How sweltering HOT is this one?

Those of you who know us know that we LOVE a sparkler exit!

This was one of our favorite weddings to shoot, and we really felt like part of the family when it was all over. We hope you all enjoyed, and stay tuned, because we still have a lot of fall wedding goodness coming your way before we close out our season!

Like macaroni and cheese, Kelly and Brian just belong together. When we first met Kelly and her mom last year we instantly clicked. Brian was working, so we didn’t get to meet him at first, but we knew any guy marrying a girl as great as Kelly must be pretty great himself, and one day after an e-shoot down in Manhattan, we met up with the two of them for dinner to get to know him a little better, and as they say, the rest is history. We started their Scott Kretschmann Photography experience with an amazing session on their home island of Manhattan. This was one of our favorite e-sessions ever, full of color, light and lots of fun. Once we had photographed their engagement session we knew that their wedding would be an amazing event and we weren’t wrong!

We started off getting ready at Kelly’s parents’ house, where the girls finished off hair and makeup. The bridal party was so relaxed and fun it really set the tone for the whole day. While Scott headed off to capture Brian getting ready, Lisa stayed with the bride and her girls as they traveled to the Old Daley Inn on Crooked Lake in Averill Park, just outside of Albany. We LOVE shooting at Crooked Lake because the gorgeous lakeside venue and their staff are amazing. Big props to Stephanie and Janice, who trusted Lisa’s artistic vision and moved a COUCH out to the edge of the water. They seriously went above and beyond all day to make Kelly and Brian’s day special (as they always do). Here are some of our favorite images from the pre-ceremony festivities as well as their touching interfaith ceremony in the great room at the Crooked Lake House. We hope you enjoy!

After the ladies helped Kelly get dressed, her mom came in to see her for the first time. It was such a beautiful, touching moment!

Annnndddd we are back with the much anticipated second blog post of Abby and Jack’s awesome wedding. Abby and Jack had an energetic crowd and it showed during the cheers as they entered their reception. After some sweet dances and toasts it was time to steal Abby and Jack for a short sunset session. We took them outside where there was some sweet sunset prettiness for us to photograph. We love to take our couples out at sunset for about 10 minutes to get some relaxed pictures in the good light. Trust us, these are 10 minutes you won’t regret! Not only did they go out for sunset but Abby and Jack plopped right down in the grass. We love couples who are willing to do anything we ask and trust that we will get great pictures. I think you will agree these are definitely some gorgeous pictures.

After they returned to the tent the party was rockin’ late into the night and we were there to capture all the highlights. Our girl Michelle was rockin’ the photobooth and the guests definitely took advantage of it. The dance floor stayed packed and what can we say other than the pictures show what an awesome crowd we got to work with for their wedding.

Abby and Jack – You guys are awesome! Thank you so much for trusting us with your wedding and being such troopers in the mud and the muck. You rock!

We think every couple who is considering marriage should renovate a house together. It is a test of your commitment, patience and ability to work together. Did we mention patience? Abby and Jack are a testimony that this is a true statement as they have been renovating their home together for four years. Their home, however, is not just any home, but a historic home in Johnsonville with a breathtaking view and amazing history. It was only right that the home that cemented their love was the venue for their wedding day. Their yard with its gorgeous hilltop views housed the ceremony that proclaimed them man and wife, while a backyard tent was the site of the biggest party that Johnsonville, NY has probably ever seen.

Although it was a rainy week it stopped that Saturday and the sun shone down to deliver a perfect day that couldn’t have been any more beautiful. We started with Abby and her girls getting ready upstairs while Jack and the boys grabbed drinks and got ready downstairs. It was off to a short and sweet little ceremony (with some amazing light I might add) and then picture time! With a fun bridal party in tow and a beautiful view we were off! We got some fun bridal party pictures and then it was time for Abby and Jack’s session. They really value photography so they made sure to give us ample time to create our magic. Trust me when I say that if you give us enough time, we will be able to get some incredible pictures. These couple portraits are some of our favorites and the best part is that they were game for a sunset and afterdark session where we got some more incredible pictures (check back for part 2 to see those!). You will absolutely fall in love with Abby and Jack after seeing their beautiful wedding day – you have been warned! Story time. Abby really loves antiques. Completely adores them. For years, whenever she visited her local antique shop, she would go directly for a gorgeous antique bottle and look at it. She coveted this bottle, but thought she could never afford it. Well, guess what Jack got her as her wedding gift? Abby knew what it was just by feeling it through the wrapping paper and the tears of joy came almost immediately. It was a great thing to witness:

Welcome back! We hope you enjoyed the pictures yesterday of Erica and Kameron’s beautiful wedding ceremony at the gorgeous Inn at Erlowest in Lake George . Here is the thing about Erica and Kameron – they are a LOT of fun, and this shines through in all their pictures. Since we were in Lake George you know we had to take pictures on the dock (the Minne Ha-Ha even paid a visit) in the beautiful light before Erica and Kameron headed off to their reception.

What follows are some of our favorite couple portraits we have ever taken. They trusted us completely and in the end it paid off with some gorgeous pictures they will cherish for years to come. We can’t wait for them to see all of their pictures at their cocktail viewing in few weeks! We are definitely picking out our favorites for wall prints to hang in the studio and we can’t wait to show them off.

After an amazing portait session by the lake, we hopped on the Albany Aquaducks trolley and headed up to the reception. Soul session was there making some stupid noise (in the words of the amazing Garland Nelson) and getting the party going. There were some beautiful toasts, dances, and lots of joy. Of course, we had to take them out for the signature After Dark Session and get a little breather from the dance floor for a couple of minutes. It was such and amazing event and it was great being there to capture everything.

You may remember Erica and Kameron’s very Saratoga engagement session from the track and Congress Park here and here. Erica caused quite a stir on the blog with the shoes she was rocking at their engagement session and she certainly didn’t disappoint on her wedding day either! She had beautiful shoes, an amazing detailed dress and a handsome groom to boot. Erica and Kameron love to laugh and that is pretty much what they did throughout their wedding day.

Erica and Kam got married at The Inn at Erlowest on a beautiful day that really could not have been more perfect. Their ceremony took place down by Lake George complete with pretty blue skies, fluffy white clouds and the occasional boater. Their ceremony was deeply personal and reflected their love of family and friends. After the ceremony, we walked over to the dock and took some amazing shots right by the water and even managed to get some with the Minnie Ha-Ha (for those of you who have been to Lake George, you will understand, the rest of you have to wait for part 2)! We are back with the second half of Tehra and Juan’s wedding! We ended with their photo session around the Capitol and then a walk to the ceremony. Their ceremony was held in the lobby of the Palace Theater at the bottom of the gorgeous staircase. The entire theater has beautiful staircases, amazing paintings on vaulted ceilings, and gold detail everywhere. In short, it was a pretty spectacular location for a wedding. After a very beautiful ceremony, a great first kiss (or two), a jump over the broom and some family pictures Tehra and Juan headed off to their cocktail hour. They thought of every detail from the signature “Coltinez” cocktail to the biscuit bar supplied by Nicole’s Catering to the beautiful tree created by Anthology Studio that was a breathtaking centerpiece in the middle of the room. The biscuit bar was our personal favorite, still being southerners at heart!

The reception itself was held on the stage of the theater, which was bathed in gorgeous purple lighting with amazing details. The entire theater was just overflowing with ambiance. After a dramatic reveal of the stage and introductions it was on to the first dance to remember. Tehra and Juan like to dance and they chose an upbeat song for their first dance. That was the kick off to a great night filled with fun. There was even an impromtu flash mob by the bridal party during dinner that got everyone on their feet. Tehra and Juan danced the night away and sent all of their guests away not just with great memories but also with some goodies from the candy bar with such yummy treats as jerk popcorn and flavored marshmellows. Thank you Tehra and Juan for picking us to photograph your special day! And now, on to the good stuff!

The event space was amazingly elegant thanks to  Anthology Design Studio, Total Events, and most of all Taia from Inspired Occasions to pull it all together. It was probably the most unique, beautiful event space we’ve seen all year!

I kid you not, after we got done taking this next shot, we tried to get them to move on to the next pose, but they were so into each other that they didn’t move and didn’t seem to hear me at all. It was SO romantic, we just let them be for a minute

Thanks so much for visiting and we hope you enjoyed all the hotness that was this blog post. We worked with some of our favorite vendors, the couple was A-MA-ZING, and it all turned into a fabulous wedding. Thank you again Tehra and Juan for letting us be a part of it all.

Tehra and Juan are one of those couples that you are drawn to the instant that you meet them. They have such different personalities, but they just work perfectly together. We have rarely seen as much expressed love and emotion on a wedding day as these two showed us. From their First Look all the way to the last dance, Tehra and Juan expressed so much joy on this day that we just know the rest of their lives will be filled with an amazing deep, abiding love.

Tehra and Juan had a wedding full of amazing details and special touches. Of course with Taia Younis of Inspired Occasions as your wedding planner you are sure to have a beautiful wedding day right down to the last detail, and they really thought of everything. From the movie ticket save the date to the art deco invitation, this was a wedding full of rich colors and beauty. From the moment we arrived we were welcomed as part of their family and everyone was so warm and inviting.

As we arrived, Tehra was finishing her vows.

We absolutely LOVE the little details like the custom dress hangar. Ladies, this is a cool little detail you can add your day that adds SO MUCH to your dress pictures!

Even all the bridesmaids and the flower girl had custom hangars. Totally awesome touch.

Tehra’s engagement ring was really awesome and unique – it had a HUGE ruby, and I think this ring may have given Kate Middleton a run for her money!

Juan, looking suave and not at all nervous about their first look. Looks can be deceiving though!

Tehra and Juan had probably the most amazing first look we have ever seen. It was the most emotion we have ever seen on a wedding day way more than even a bride walking down the aisle. We had SUCH a hard time picking which photos to blog from their first look, so we’ve decided that it will get its own blog post soon! For now, here are some of our favorites. Words can’t do justice to these emotions, so just watch their faces and enjoy!

After the first look was over, it was time to head off to the Empire State Plaza for some photos. First, the bridal party for a little fun. We’ll get back to them later.

It was SO hot on the Plaza that day. Can’t really tell if it was from the sun or the smoking hot couple though.

We just love playing on this sculpture in front of the capitol building.

Lawyers during the week, models on the weekend? One has to wonder…

From there, they walked to the Palace Theater together to prepare for the ceremony. Suddenly, the entire crowd, including the Bride and Groom, burst into song. I think all of downtown may have started hearing “Going to the chapel and we’re gonna get married.” It was awesome.
