We love to travel for weddings, and since Boston is one of our favorite cities, it wasn’t too difficult for Scott to convince us to make our way out there for their beautiful fall wedding. These two live in Brooklyn, where we went for their engagement photos, but they made the trip back to their former home of Boston for their wedding at Glen Magna Farms.

When you first meet Colleen and Scott, they seem like a very nice, unassuming, cute couple. That’s until you hear their ridiculous list of accomplishments. In addition to being talented runners they have built schools in Africa, run a lot of marathons ( for fun-we still don’t get it),  Colleen has worked with Teach for America, and Scott is a successful lawyer. These two really embrace everything in life and most of all, are so in tune with each other as they go through their many adventures. Even though we only met via phone we knew right away they were a Scott K kinda couple.

Their wedding day was overcast, but it didn’t lighten the mood one bit. Glen Magna was awesome with waiting on the weather, they didn’t make the call until an hour before the ceremony, and the rain held off just long enough for them to have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony. We did get a little rain during their After Dark session, but that just added to the mood Without further ado,here are some of our favorites from the day!

We met Laurie and Joe just three months before their wedding in the lobby of a hotel we were staying in while visiting Manhattan to shoot Kelly and Brian’s engagement session (if you scroll down to the post before this, you can see their wedding!). A month and a half later we were in Manhattan and Astoria, Queens to shoot Laurie and Joe’s awesome engagement session. On the day of the wedding, they opted for a first look which allowed us to give them some private time to see each other for the first time and get all of their pictures done before the wedding, as the sunset ceremony wouldn’t have allowed us time after the wedding.

The ceremony and reception were held at The View on the Hudson, which is located in the cute little town of Piermont, NY, Just across the Tappan Zee Bridge from New York City. After a sweet indoor ceremony in the ballroom, they headed of to their cocktail hour filled with some AMAZING food. Our favorite part of the cocktail hour is seeing all of the interesting food displays and appetizers. Laurie and Joe were able to enjoy their cocktail hour and visit with all of their guest who had come from all over the country to their wedding. After, cocktail hour they entered into their reception and did probably to most beautiful and sophisticated first dance we have seen in a long time. Of course, we had to head outside and do an after dark session lit by the Tappan Zee to close it all out.

Laurie and Joe-Thank you for letting us be a part of your day. We loved getting to explore Piermont and meet your families. It was such a joy to work with you and we hope you enjoy your pictures!

Now, a few cool portraits of our Bride and Groom around downtown Piermont (it’s really small, downtown is kinda the whole city). It did have this really cool old steam engine though.

There were some elderly residents nearby that said we HAD to take a photo in the gazebo, so we obliged, but did it with our own style.

We’ve been busy editing photos with every spare second we have recently, but the photos will be worth the wait, we promise! Wedding season has finally wound down for us, which means we can spend a lot more time editing now that we are done shooting for the season. We are finally ready to show off all of Jen and Steve’s amazing wedding photos. They really wanted a wedding close to their home in Massachusetts, but still with that small, intimate destination wedding feel. They settled on the Green Mountain Inn in Stowe, VT. The Inn itself was incredible. Lisa and I stayed there for the weekend and loved the comfort and hospitality of the inn. It was the perfect setting for an intimate wedding nestled amongst the mountains of Vermont. The weather was not cooperating and their outdoor ceremony had to be moved inside, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits or Jen’s amazing smile when she first saw her groom inside the Mansfield House. Following their ceremony, we took them out to some traditional photo spots in Stowe and put a little Scott Kretschmann Photography twist on the classic images. We then made our way back to the reception in the Main Street Dining Room at the inn. The reception was warm, inviting, and everyone there felt like family by the end of the night. We were really honored to be a part of it.

Welcome to the long overdue second half of Jen and Steve’s wedding preview from their amazing Stowe, Vermont wedding over Labor Day weekend. Their wedding took place at the Green Mountain Inn in downtown Stowe. If you check out their previous preview post, you’ll see the highlights from their preparation and the ceremony. Today we’ll show you a small selection of our favorites from their romantic session, their reception and their After Dark session. After their ceremony was over, we started with the formal shots just outside of the Mansfield House where they held their ceremony where we found a really cool shed that we could use for an awesome background. However, when you are in Stowe, there are a couple of traditional shots you absolutely have to get. Generally we try to go places to shoot that other photographers haven’t shot before, but when you have certain iconic backgrounds, you just have to use them. So, with this in mind, we shoehorned Jen and her new husband into the back of our Honda Insight eco-mobile for the short drive up mountain road to get the awesome background with the mountain and the Stowe Community Church. After we got a few fun shots up there, we went to the covered bridge walkway and then went back to the hotel for their announcement into the reception. Here are some of our favorite images from the remainder of the night:

The clouds ruled the day and even forced the ceremony to be moved inside. However, the sun made an appearance for a few amazing photos anyway!

We saw this old phone booth and just HAD to use it. We love the vintage feel of this one:

Their first dance was to “Creme de la Creme” by Annie Brooks. We love it when couples use unique, amazing first dance songs. Don’t get me wrong, “At Last” is and always has been a wonderful song, but something really unique to a couple always sets the perfect mood for a reception.

Check out this awesome cake by Vermont Sweet Tooth – it looked just like pieces of a birch tree. It was really unique, incredibly cool, and also pretty tasty!

Jim Severance of Music Mix DJ kept the party hopping all night long.

After a little partying, we took Jen and Steve outside for one of our signature “After Dark Sessions.”

We’re so excited to be sharing yet another awesome destination wedding with you tonight. Jen and Steve were married over Labor Day weekend at the Green Mountain Inn in beautiful Stowe, Vermont. If you’ve never been to Stowe and live nearby, go. I know it’s a ski resort, but even in the summer, it’s amazing. Lisa and I had so much fun spending the weekend there, and the Inn was an incredible place to stay. The highlight of the whole weekend was, of course, Jen and Steve’s wedding. We  first met up with these two in Boston during our travels when we shot their engagement session, and we traveled yet again to shoot their amazing wedding. Tonight we are going to share with you the first half of their wedding preview, featuring some of our favorite shots from the day.

Occasionally I get cool detail shots as well. It’s usually Lisa’s gig, but I always try to get a cool dress shot. Her Sophia Tolli dress was really beautiful. It couldn’t have been more perfect for her.

They had originally planned to have a really beautiful outdoor ceremony on the grass at the Inn. Mother nature disagreed, as she often does, and decided that the day would be a little wetter than expected. Instead, they moved the ceremony into the intimate and beautiful Mansfield House on the property.

Steve’s son was his best man. I caught the two of them hanging out just before the ceremony. I love capturing real moments like this:

The first kiss is an amazing moment at any wedding. However, the moment just after the kiss is even more magical to capture. Just look at her expression!

We just got back from an exciting labor day weekend shooting a sort of destination wedding in Stowe, VT. It was only about a three hour drive for us, but Stowe certainly is a destination! We were there to capture Jen and Steve’s amazing wedding at the Green Mountain Inn right on main street in downtown Stowe. We welcome any opportunity we have to shoot in Vermont, and getting to capture such a great wedding for an amazing couple like Jen and Steve made it absolutely perfect. We have lots and lots of images to get through, but we wanted to give you guys a teaser just to wet your appetites for more! As of the time this blog post goes up, Jen and Chris are getting their first look with us at their wedding photos, and we are really excited to be bringing them to you! They got married a few weeks ago at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA on beautiful Cape Cod. It was our first destination wedding of the season, and we LOVE traveling and seeing all the great stuff that a new place has to offer. Jen and Chris had a beautiful wedding that felt just like a vacation for everyone involved. The location was beautiful. The rain threatened all day, but we managed to get some great beach photos in anyway, and the skies looked incredible in them! The ceremony was held out in front of the Carriage House at Ocean Edge, and it was a beautiful setting. After grabbing the portraits on the beach, we went to the reception, and the bride and groom were tearing up the dance floor all night, with some costumed help from the groomsmen during YMCA. For the second half of our wedding preview, we’re going to show you our favorites from Jen and Chris’ incredible reception at the Carriage House at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA. In keeping with the incredible Cape Cod location, the beach details continued throughout the reception area. Chris is a HUGE movie fan, and each table was named after a beach or tropical themed movie. The blue lighting in the room really added to the atmosphere, and the deck outside gave everyone a chance to grab some cool ocean breezes when they needed a break from the dance floor. Lots of the guests had to take advantage of this, because the dance floor was seriously rocking all night long. They actually did shut the place down, and Chris really knows how to get down on the dance floor. All the wedding guests were a lot of fun, and we had a blast shooting this wedding. The night was a mix of wild moments, like you’re about to see, and some incredibly touching ones, like a slideshow dedicated to Jen’s late father. It was a beautiful, incredible night. Check out some of our favorite shots and we’ll be working hard to get the rest of the photos done to show all of you soon!

We hear the song YMCA at a lot of weddings. This one was a little different though. Chris’ dad LOVES the song, and the crowd got really into it when the groom and his groomsmen busted out the Village People hats and some fake moustaches to go with the song. His dad even joined in. Check these out!

We’re so excited to be posting some more photos from Jen and Chris’ wedding at the Ocean Edge Resort on Cape Cod, in the beautiful town of Brewster, MA. This will be the first of two preview posts, and we’ll be showing you some of our favorites from pre-wedding, the ceremony, and a fun portrait session we had on the beach afterwards. Rain was threatening the whole afternoon, and the wind was blowing, but the weather was kind enough to stay away. We got a small rain shower, but other than that, it left us with AWESOME skies for photos! The ceremony was a beautiful, simple affair on the lawn in front of the Carriage House at the Ocean Edge. The setting was perfect, the couple was so much fun (just wait till you see the second half of the preview featuring the reception photos!)  and we had a blast. We always enjoy traveling for weddings, and you definitely don’t have to twist our arms to get us out to Cape Cod, but couples like Jen and Chris really make destination weddings perfect. We just got back from a whirlwind weekend of fabulous weddings. We started it off with our first destination wedding of the season, which involved a trip out to Cape Cod. We always love going out to the Cape, it’s so beautiful and relaxing. Destination weddings are a favorite of ours because not only is it great for us to keep the creative juices flowing shooting someplace new, but it also always seems more fun for the couple, and their photos always show that off. Jen and Chris got married at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA. It was an incredible location, and they were an incredible couple. We had a blast and wanted to share a little sneak peek of this great wedding – there will be plenty more coming soon, so stay tuned!
